Scheduling

Appointment

As an independent practitioner, Dr. Smith renders her services at her private office and via video conference. She provides online psychotherapy and other services to individuals whose geographical location, professional and personal commitments make it challenging to attend in-person sessions.

Online Privacy

While Skype and FaceTime use Advanced Encryption Standards, the same encryption technology that is used by the U.S. federal government to protect sensitive information, Dr. Smith prefers and recommends the use of Secure Telehealth. It is HIPAA compliant and more reliable than Skype and FaceTime.

Schedule

Please contact Dr. Smith to discuss the problems you are facing and to determine how she may be able to help you. There is no charge for the initial phone consultation. If you are not able to reach her in person, please leave a message on her private voicemail, letting her know several good times to contact you. If your first call is during the weekend, please let her know convenient times to reach you during the following week.

Appointments are available Monday through Friday, including evening appointments. The initial intake and evaluation meeting may last between 60-90 minutes. After that, the length of the psychotherapy sessions is 50-minutes.

Cancellations

The cancellation policy is twenty-four hours. In the case of extenuating circumstances, Dr. Smith will try to reschedule your appointment whenever possible. You are financially responsible for late cancellations and missed appointments that are made with less than 24 hours notification.

Fees

The fees for professional services are based on the usual and customary rates for psychologists in the area where Dr. Smith practices and reflect her level of expertise. Please call our office to inquire about the fee schedule.

Full payment for services is expected at the end of each session. Dr. Smith accepts payment via Cash, Checks, Visa, Master Card, and Discover. Those who chose to pay with a credit card will incur a processing fee for each transaction.

Insurance

Out-of-net Benefits
Dr. Smith is not an in-net insurance provider. Most insurance companies offer reimbursement for mental health services to individuals who have out of network benefits. The reimbursed amount varies according to your plan and can range from 50 – 75% of the fees each insurance company allows. You must contact your insurance carrier to determine if you are eligible for reimbursement, in-office, and teletherapy.

At your request, Dr. Smith will provide you with a detailed, monthly statement that you are responsible for submitting to your insurance carrier to obtain reimbursement.

You may contact Dr. Smith for an initial free phone consultation or to setup an appointment.
